Today Ben and I officially cut caffeine and most carbohydrates from our diet. We are avoiding artificial sweeteners other than Splenda, sucralose. According to the Atkins diet plan, aspertame can increase hunger. We also have to give up alcohol for a while. The absence of caffeine and chocolate in my diet may be difficult to deal with.
I made us a chicken caesar salad for dinner. I sprinkled chicken tenderloins with a little seasoning salt and then pan fried them. The salad consisted of romaine lettuce with black pepper and caesar dressing on it. Parmesan cheese isn't allowed at the stage of the diet and croutons are definitely a no-no. While not mentally satisfied with our food for the day, we survived our first day without any major temptation issues. Fixing Katie's food without sampling it is going to be my biggest challenge.
